At Finca Carrizal, we thrive on the adventure of coffee. If you’re brewing coffee in an electric drip coffee maker, we suggest using 1 g of coffee for every 0.6 oz (17 ml) of water. To savor your filtered coffee to the fullest, serve it within 20 minutes or keep it warm in an insulated container. And don’t hesitate to explore new flavors and find your unique style! Feel free to adjust the coffee-to-water ratio according to your preference, whether you prefer a bolder or milder brew.

Water/Coffee Ratio for Finca Carrizal Coffee: For a delightful cup of Finca Carrizal coffee, we suggest a ratio of 15 g of coffee per 8.5 oz (or 250 ml) of water. Feel free to customize this ratio to suit your taste preferences, whether you prefer a bolder or more delicate brew.
Here’s everything you need to immerse yourself in a unique coffee experience with Chemex and enjoy 2 cups full of flavor!

- Drip kettle
- Water

Now, follow these steps to create 2 perfect cups with your Chemex:
- Place the filter in the Chemex filter in the coffee maker, making sure the thicker side of the three-layer filter is oriented towards the spout of the Chemex.
- Fill the drip kettle with water and boil it until it reaches 200°F.
- Use the kettle to moisten the filter with hot water to preheat the Chemex, focusing on the thicker side of the filter, and then discard the remaining water.
- Weigh 30 g of Finca Carrizal coffee and, if necessary, grind it to a medium grind. Then, pour the ground coffee onto the Chemex filter.
- Place the Chemex on the scale and zero it out.
- Start the infusion with 100 g of water for 1 minute, then pour up to 250 g and wait for it to drain almost completely for about 2 minutes.
- Perform the second pour in a circular and uniform manner until reaching 500 g of water and let the coffee filter completely for about 4 minutes.
- Pour the coffee from the Chemex into your two favorite cups and enjoy every sip.
